Agia
Anna is situated 7 km from the main town, just after the beach of Agios
Prokopios.
It took its name from the small white chapel which is located in the
top of the hill of Agia Anna.
The area is
characterised by an endless sandy beach only interrupted by a small
fishing port and some rocky points. The beach has some full organised
parts. The biggest part is sandy but there are points where it's rocky,
the area around the small church is rocky.
It can be reached by car, bus or small tourist
boat.
The village of Agia Anna is smaller and more
cosy than Agios Prokopios but still offers good facilities to tourists
like: nice
fish tavernas,
open disco
bars, coffee shops. The small fishing port
of Agia Anna is picturesque. There one sees the fishing boats sailing
early in the evening and coming back the next morning full of fishes.
The area behind the chapel of Agia Anna
is unique for the beauty of its nature, covered from small cedar
trees, that only grow in Egypt
and Naxos. This small part is always Green, even in the middle of the
summer.
